Show & Tell Monday: All About Babies

Linking Up with Becky at From Mrs. To Mama for her weekly link up, Show and Tell.  This week is All About Babies!

1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)

Boys:
Coen, August, Coen August, August Matthew
Girls:
so far, no other girl names...it was Brooklynne before we got married!

2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?

I would like to have 4 children, ideally.  I had originally wanted to have them 2 years apart, but we have decided against that.  I have done research on child spacing and the benefits of giving your children more time.  I definitely don't want Brooklynne to be an only child, but I also want to be able to spend as much time with her without other children.  We are thinking about getting pregnant next fall.  I work nights right now and I don't think it would be wise or healthy for me and the baby to be not sleeping three days out of the week.  So we have to be to a point financially in order for me not to be working.  I am only 27, and in now rush to have children.  We absolutely LOVE having only one child and I want her to be an only child for a while...as soon as we add another child, I can't focus on only her anymore.  I had a pretty good pregnancy, with only a few standard complaints, but I literally have no desire to be pregnant right now.  I am excited for more children, I am stoked to see Brooklynne as an older sister, but not yet...she needs more time, and we need more time with just her!!

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?

That's a very big question and I don't think it has one or a simple answer and I'm not even sure how to answer it.  I know for both my husband and I, we were raised in Christian families that were very family oriented.  Both of our parents are still married (my parents-36 years, his parents-30 years...amazing!)  and definitely put their families first, after the Lord.  The importance of parenting is training up children, my child is going to be an adult some day, and I hope and pray that our parenting has been good enough to train her in to a Godly woman who also puts her family first and makes a difference in our world!!
I tell my daughter EVERY DAY that I love her.  My mom did and does the same thing with me, I know that she loves me, she doesn't have to tell me that she loves me, but she does anyways.  I want my children to ALWAYS know that we love them, that they are important, wanted, and beautiful!!

5. Show us your favorite newborn photo {can be your children or random}

6.  Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent {and if you are a parent, did you stick to it}

1.  I promised to never put my child's pacifier in my mouth to "clean" it: I have stuck to it...that is THE most disgusting thing EVER.  Mouths are one the dirtiest places on the body, if not the dirtiest, and putting their paci in your mouth can cause cavities and other nasty mouth problems (I've done research on it, it's not just me thinking it's gross).

2.  I promised to only give my children milk and water until the age of at least 2: I've stuck to it so far (she has had a sip tea, coffee and juice from other people, or because she went behind my back, but not her own).

3.  I promised to not let my kid watch tv until the age of 3: I've stuck to this almost...there have been a few times that she's watched tv, the first being when she was sick, but she wasn't interested.  She's never really interested for more than a few minutes.  But after lots of research on this, as well, I feel that it's best to wait for her to watch tv.

I can't remember if I had any other ones.

Did you link up with Becky this week?  If you did, let me know so I can read your post!!
