It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

We're 29 weeks pregnant and we had another ultrasound on Friday.  At our last ultrasound the doctor found something called a Choroid Plexus Cyst in the Choroid Plexus of her brain.  The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain. The choroid plexus has the important function of producing a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid produced by the cells of the choroid plexus fills the ventricles and then flows around the brain and the spinal cord to provide a cushion of fluid around these structures.  CPCs can form within this structure and come from fluid trapped within this spongy layer of cells, much like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are often called "soft signs" or fetal ultrasound "markers" because some studies have found a weak association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities (wikipedia).  Since they can turn into something bad, they wanted to do another ultrasound (a more accurate, level 2 ultrasound) on her just to make sure everything was okay.  It was pretty scary not being able to do anything about it for the past 3 weeks, but we've appreciated all the people who have been praying for us!  The cyst was completely gone on the ultrasound!!  Praise the Lord!!  Since we had another ultrasound, I asked if they could double check the gender because we didn't get to see it on the screen...she's definitely a little girl!!

Her beautiful face!!!

Matt was raking the leaves yesterday so we had a little fun with the leaves.  Then we went to see White Christmas in Sonora with Matt's family and it was so much fun!  We leave for our babymoon/anniversary trip on Thursday which we are super excited about! We appreciate you all and that you read our blog!  Merry Christmas!

27 weeks pregnant

We are 27 weeks pregnant tomorrow which marks the beginning of my 3rd trimester.  I know everyone says this, but, it's amazing how fast everything has gone, we only have 92 days until our due date.  We are really enjoying our childbirth class, and weekly learning more and more about the benefits of natural childbirth.  She's kicking all the time, which is so much fun to feel, but sadly, Matt still hasn't felt her kick; hopefully he will soon.  We are very excited about the upcoming holidays, and our baby-moon/3 year anniversary trip to Disneyland coming up soon.  Here is a picture that I took of myself after a walk this morning, as you can see from the picture, I am definitely pregnant!

Halloween 2010

Matthew made my Halloween costume this year, and it was so much fun! He made an oven out of cardboard, and I was a "bun in the oven!" The knobs on the oven were real, and it had a working "bake" light that would turn on.

Also, here's a picture of our little house all decorated for the trick or treaters. We got so many more this year than we have before, and it was very exciting! Thanks for making the costume for me, Matt, I love it!!!

belly belly belly...

Hello friends, just thought I'd put an update up. Everything is going well with the pregnancy, still easy so far (which means a really hard labor for me probably). In fact, she kicked two weeks ago for the first time, and I haven't felt her kick again since then, but when I sat down to write tonight, she started kicking like crazy, it was very exciting!! We have our next appointment this Friday, and we start our birthing classes on Thursday night. We're going with The Bradley Method, because I like how natural it was and I really like how the dad does the majority of the coaching (Coach Matt). I took a picture of my belly this evening so you could all see that it is getting bigger...it looks like there really is a baby in there now. Anyways, thanks for reading our blog!!

More News!!

Matthew and I had our ultrasound this past Thursday and it went very well. We got to see so much of our little baby, and it was such a blessing to watch the baby move around. Watching the heart beat was way incredible and quite crazy. We wanted to find out the sex of the baby, but we wanted to wait until we were with both of our families, so we had the ultrasound tech (Marcia) tell us when that part was coming and we turned our heads.
She wrote the gender on a piece of paper and put it into an envelope and that night we went out for dessert with my parents and Matt's family and had the waitress write the gender on our dessert so we all found out at the same time.
I was hoping for this, but didn't want to get my hopes up, but we are so very excited!! Her name is Brooklynne Julianna Lung, Lynne for my mother in law and Julianna for my little sister, and we couldn't be more excited (Matt has two brothers, so they've all really been wanting a girl)!!
Thank you to both of our families for coming with us and Thanks to BJ's who were super accommodating and so excited with us!!

We're going to be parents!!

Matthew and I found out in June that we are going to be parents in February and we couldn't be more excited.  We've both wanted to be parents since we got married, but Matt thought we should wait, and I am so glad we did.  It's been a wonderful almost 3 years of marriage to an amazing man and I'm so thankful we got to spend it just the two of us, but it will be such a blessing to add a little baby to the mix.  Right now we're renting a two bedroom place in Modesto, and we love it.  We live here with our dog, Barley (who's currently sitting next to me) and it's perfect for us and at least 1 or 2 kids.  Matt's working as a Territory Manager for a horticulture company, and enjoys it, despite the long hours, and I'm hoping to get a job at Starbucks in the next few weeks.  We had our first ultrasound this morning at 14.5 weeks and it was so cool to see the baby, maybe even somewhat surreal.  We're excited to be able to share this time with everyone, and thank you all for your love and support!
