6 weeks? WHAT?!?!?!?!

My little girl is 6 weeks old today, and she just keeps getting cuter and cuter every day!  She's holding her head up all the time now, smiling at as, watching us (she definitely knows her mommy and daddy), and her newest thing as of today is that she rolled over.  I was taking pictures of her in the backyard on the grass and she had been lying on her stomach, and I wanted to get some of her on her tummy, so I moved her.  I don't think she liked the feeling of the grass on her face, because I moved her to her stomach, and right away she pushed herself over.  I tried two more times, and both times she pushed herself over, it was super precious!

My sister in law and her three kids got here today, and are staying until Friday.  My brother is the youth pastor for a church in Washington and took his youth kids to Mexico for spring break, so Wendy came down with the kids, stopping at her parents house in Oregon, Bethany and Jason's house in Eureka and my parents house in Concord, and drove over here today.  We had a wonderful afternoon hanging outside in the beautiful weather, making fresh lemonade and the kids had fun playing tag and hide n' seek.  What a blessing it is to have family here, and a blessing for Brooklynne to meet more of her cousins!!

my first night back to youth group

I went back to youth group for the first time since winter camp, and it was wonderful.  Matt got home early so he could watch Brooklynne while I went to church.  He said he had a fun time with B even though she slept the whole time.  He invited his friend Ted and his brother Jared over to play video games while they hung out with B.  I really enjoyed being back at youth group, but I missed being with Brooklynne!  We are definitely blessed to be at such a great church!

my little model girl

My friend Giana (she did my maternity photos) has a store on Etsy where she sells items that she's crocheted.  She gave Brooklynne a headband this morning that she crocheted, so I took some pictures of B wearing the headband so Giana could use them for her Etsy if she wants.  Thanks for the headband, Giana, we love it!!

Such a great day!!

Today was fantastic, Matt and I had our first Sunday back with the high school youth group, and it was really nice to be back.  Since we were with the high schoolers during Sunday School we brought Brooklynne to the nursery for the first time, and she was in there through the service as well.  She slept during Sunday School, I fed her in between services and she slept again during the service.  They said she was wonderful!

I also couldn't have her in such a cute outfit without taking pictures of her, she's just way too precious!  This was our second photo shoot of the day, the first being before she ate, and there was not a chance she was going to let me take a picture of her!

The best part of Brooklynne's day was meeting her Uncle John for the first time (Uncle John is Aunt Juli's husband).  Uncle John was in California for half of the week on a trip with Uncle Jerrod, and so B and I drove up to Manteca and met them at In N' Out  as they were on their way back from their trip.  It was so wonderful to see him, and I'm so glad that Brooklynne got to meet him, and we can't wait to see them in June and for our trip to Missouri in August!  We love you Uncle John, it was so good to see you!!

Our Saturday

We had a wonderful day despite the rain.  Matt had to work this morning, but he called me when he was off to see if B and I wanted to go to his parents because they hadn't seen her since last week, so we did.  After we left we went and got groceries and came home and cleaned the house.  It wasn't a super exciting day, but it was nice nonetheless.

Stephen, Jessica and Tynlee came over this evening for dinner and I made Italian pot roast, french bread, mashed potatoes and apple pie for dessert, and it was yummy!!  Since most of the pictures from hang out time with them have the girls and Jess and me, we decided to make the boys be in the picture, and they protested, but finally let me take the picture.  Jess and I are blessed with not only gorgeous daughters, but also incredible husbands who love us so much, and we are so blessed to have such incredible friends!!!

The Cseh's came to visit!!

My sister and brother in law and their three kids got to meet B for the first time today!  They live up in Eureka, but they're in Concord this week because Jason's remodeling my parents bathroom.  They got to spend the whole day with us, and it was so much fun!  Isaac, Emily and Antonio were full of energy, but they're always so much fun to spend time with.  Emily wanted to hold Brooklynne the whole time, and she was so sweet with her and very careful.  They got us Chinese food for dinner, which was delicious, and it was sad to see them go back to Concord this evening.  Thank you so much for coming to visit us today, Csehs, we love you all so much!!

how I told Matthew...

I found out I was pregnant on June 7th early in the morning (I was pretty sure I was pregnant), and drove around to find exactly what I needed to tell Matt that he was going to be a daddy.  When we were first married I had bought a bottle of Dad's Rootbeer and told him that we were pregnant, but he didn't believe me for a second, but he told me that I could tell him that way when were eventually got pregnant.  I first went to Target looking for a girl outfit with an owl on it, then I went to Walmart to find a boy outfit.  I got two bottle of Dad's Rootbeer from O'Briens and drove home to tell him.  Tonight I put the owl pajamas on Brooklynne, and they fit perfectly.  I am having so much fun taking pictures of her, she's just so cute!!

my baby is 5 weeks old!

Brooklynne is 5 weeks old today...where has the time gone?  It's hard to believe she's already this old.

I posted about her first doctors appointment last week, but what I didn't talk about was that I wasn't too pleased with how the appointment went.  I had some expectations going into it, expectations that had been established from experiences at my pediatricians office growing up.  I'm not trying to say that the appointment or the doctor has to be exactly like mine when I was a child, but with this being her first appointment, he didn't check how much she had grown, her eyes, her ears, and a few other things that are important for the first appointment (they didn't take an accurate weight either).  The doctor was very nice, a family practitioner, but I think I was looking for more solely pediatrics, so we switched.  We had her first appointment with the new doctor today, and I was quite pleased with everything.  They did a "two week checkup" for her even though she's five weeks.  The doctor said that Brooklynne's growing impressively well, and that she's very healthy, and cute!  We go back in three weeks for her two month checkup.  On another good note, she slept for seven straight hours last night, and oh boy, I loved it!!  I love my little beauty so much and I'm so thankful to be so blessed!!

panda hat

While on our babymoon back in December we bought a panda hat for B from Gymboree.  Panda hats aren't special to the average person, but we're SF Giants fans, therefore, we're Panda fans.  One of the players on the Giants, Pablo Sandoval, is called Panda, after King Fu Panda (he kind of looks like him).  So since it was on sale, we decided it was necessary to purchase it.  It's still too big, but it fits better than when we first brought her home.  She's so precious and she's getting so big.

Dinner with friends

We brought dinner over to Stephen and Jessica (from our childbirth class) tonight, and it was so much fun! They had their daughter 2 days after Brooklynne came, so not only did we bond in class, but with our girls being so close in age, we get to go through everything together.  We are so blessed to know this wonderful couple and Brooklynne is already so blessed to have such a dear friend!

On our drive home from Concord on Sunday we got to witness a glorious sunset.  It had been cloudy most of the day, but had not rained very much.  I took this photo while Matt drove down Byron Highway and I was blown away at how glorious our Lord is.  Thank you for painting the sky every night for us, Lord!

Tummy Time

We've been doing floor or on the couch tummy time with Brooklynne for a few weeks now (neglected to read that we're supposed to do it as soon as we come home), and she doesn't mind it too much. She's not a fan of long periods of time (more than 5 minutes) on her tummy,  but hopefully she'll start to get more used to it.  She did raise her head off my chest this morning and stare at me for a few minutes, it was so precious!  As I was working on my friends baby shower cake on Saturday, I asked Matt to have some tummy time with her, and they were just so adorable together, and of course, Barley wanted to help Daddy.

B's faces

I know I posted a collage of B's facial expressions on the St. Patrick's Day post, but I didn't show you all the photos I got of her, and they were just so cute!!  Love you Baby B!!

First family date

Sunday night on the way home from visiting my family in Concord, we stopped at the Black Bear Diner in Modesto for dinner.  We had heard pretty good things about it, so we decided to try it out.  It was okay, but I don't know if we'll go there for a meal again, maybe just dessert (the dessert menu looked great).  We had a nice time, and B was just a little fussy in the beginning.  I love my family of three!!

In N' Out

While my sister Juli was visiting from Missouri, she said she wanted to make a stop at In N' Out (what real Californian doesn't), and that was not a problem for us.  Matt took a "family day" on March 10th, and we got lunch at In N' Out, which was B's first trip there (crazy kid had never been to In N' Out...oh right, she's a newborn).  B decided she didn't want to eat anything with us, so she sat in her car seat at the table and waited patiently as we chowed down on some delicious burgers!

We still miss you, Aunt Juli!!

St. Patrick's Day 2011

Yesterday, as you all know, was St. Patrick's Day!  Since B didn't have any green clothes yet, I bought a really cute outfit for her at Target, and I was super excited to have her wear it yesterday!  She looked adorable in all her green, and the fun thing is that even though I'm not Irish at all, B has a little bit of Irish in her (thanks Daddy).  Happy St. Patrick's Day, all!!

B was making faces at me while I was taking pictures of her, and I couldn't not show them all to you.  The one on the top right is my favorite face, Matt calls it her monkey face, I just love them all!

I had to take a picture of the two of us in our green, even though her outfit was wayyyy cuter than mine.

Brooklynne's 1 Month Birthday!!

Yesterday was B's 1 month birthday...eeek, she's already a month, and it's gone way too fast!  She's still in newborn clothes (yay), but she's changing every day.  It has been absolutely incredible to watch her grow and change every day and it is such a blessing to be her mommy!  She makes eye contact, talks a ton, and has wonderful wake time.  I am just having so much fun every day with her and Matt's jealous that I get to spend all day with her (we miss daddy being home with us).  We are so blessed!!

More Newborn Photos

Kristy from Studio Six Photography invited us to her house for some newborn photos when B was two weeks old.  We had so much fun.  The house was heated to 85 degrees (holy smokes, so warm), which helped B to sleep the whole time (and pee three times).  Kristy got some incredible photos that we couldn't be happier with.  What a treat to know such a talented photographer!!  Thank you so much, Kristy!!

B's first doctors visit

Brooklynne went to the doctor today for her first check up, and it went great, she did such a good job!  She was 5 lbs 12 oz and 18 inches long when we left the hospital, and today she was 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long.  So she's growing so well, and gaining lots of weight!!

Brooklynne's First Day Date!!

Brooklynne and I got to go out with our besties, Jessica and Tynlee, today.  We drove out to Tracy and went to the Carter and Osh Kosh B'Gosh outlets.  Both were great, but Osh Kosh B'Gosh had much better deals.  We got Taco Bell (yummmm) on the way there and Starbucks (YUMMMM) on the way back. Both girls were amazing, and it was so nice to hang out!

Monday, March 14, 2011

My sister, Krista got a wubbanub for B a few months ago, and we started using it on Saturday.  It has since become her favorite pacifier, and she won't take any other kind, so I went and bought four more soothies for her.  It's really cute to see her hold it and sleep with it!  Thanks Aunt Krista!!

A few things

I told you all a few days ago that my sister, Juli was here to visit.  She went back home on Saturday, and it was sad to say goodbye (I really didn't want to).  We had such a wonderful time with her here, and it was a blessing to all of us for her to meet Baby B, we just wish she lived closer (maybe someday?).  We love you Juli!

Before she left, the three of us got to get fun!!

We love you, Juli!

My best friend!!

B already misses her favorite aunt..come back!!!!

After we took Juli to the airport, Matt, B and I went to Ikea (her first time) and spent way too much time there, it was quite exhausting.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Our good friend Monique came over to meet B and visit Juli and me, and it was such a treat to have her here for a sleepover!  We love you Auntie Mo!!!

Aunt Juli is here to visit!!

My sister Juli (Brooklynne's named after her....Julianna) came on Monday from Missouri to visit and hang out with B and me, and it has been such a blessing to have her here!!  It's very hard to have her live so far away, so to have her visit and stay at our house for 4 days has been so much fun, but it just makes me want her to move back even more.  Brooklynne has loved being held by her so much and I have loved not having to change many diapers and I appreciate all the house cleaning she's been doing for me (she's the best).

On Wednesday we drove out to Santa Cruz and spent two and a half hours there. It was a short trip, but Juli missed the Pacific Ocean, so it was definitely worth the hours in the car, and we really enjoyed the time together.  We had lunch on the beach and then went to the outdoor shopping center downtown and walked around for a little while.   We had such a great time, and B did so well on her first beach trip!!

Daddy Time

Baby B loves to hang out with her daddy, and it is such a precious thing to watch them together.  I love  him even more when I see them together, and she is so blessed to have such a wonderful daddy!!!  We are a blessed family!

Brooklynne's First Trip

We brought Brooklynne home on Friday the 18th, and got to take her on a little trip to Costco on Saturday the 19th.  She did a great job and it was so much fun to carry her around in the Ergo!  She is such a little doll!!

My Progression

My good friend Giana took my maternity photos, but did them as a progressive shoot.  She took just a few photos of me every four or so weeks (18, 22, 26, 29, 33, 39) and with Baby B and then collaged them together.  It was a lot of fun, and it's cool to see my growth!  Thanks Giana!!

B's Newborn Photos

On Saturday, February 19th, our first full day home from the hospital, our friend Christy came over to take Brooklynne's newborn photos.  Brooklynne did a great job, only fussing a little, and Christy was great with B and got some wonderful photos!  Thank you for taking the photos, Christy, we really appreciate it!!
