Recipe: Pumpkin Spice Lattes

I got the idea for these lattes from momadvice, and decided to try my hand at it this evening.  I'm at my parents house until Saturday because I have a wedding this weekend in the Bay Area (I'm making 250 mini apple pies), and my mom L.O.V.E.S. pumpkin spice lattes.  They were yummy, definitely not starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, but still super delicious...check next week for pumpkin cream cheese muffins using the rest of the pumpkin!  Anyways, they were the perfect dessert, you should try them!

Make 1 cup of strong coffee, I used an Italian style coffee maker.

To medium saucepan, add milk, pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Heat until it is your desired temperature.  I used a frother to aerate the latte a little bit, but it's not necessary.

Serve in mugs, and top with whipped cream, or whup cream as my nephew used to say.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes
serves 2

2 cups milk
2 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 cup strong coffee
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
whipped cream

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat on medium until hot.  Froth if desired. Serve hot in two mugs and top with the whipped cream and a bit of cinnamon for a garnish.
