I did not expect that

Two nights ago Brooklynne was having a hard time falling asleep, which is not usual, but I was trying to let her just cry it out.  Matt went into check on her, and she had turned over, I wouldn't be concerned about this because she can roll over on her own, but we still swaddle her every night, so her hands are tight at her sides, and I didn't know if she'd be able to turn her head without her arms lifting herself up.

sorry for the blurry cell phone pictures

Well, Matt turned her over and she fell back asleep, but woke up 20 minutes later because she had rolled over again.  This time, she had gotten one arm out of the swaddle, so I turned her back over, put her pacifier back into her mouth and this time she fell asleep for real.

I decided to try swaddling her with her arms out last night to see how if she would sleep okay like that.

ack, blurry cell phone pictures

She seemed to be okay with it until I put her into her crib and left the room; she started screaming and would not stop.  I let her cry for a while, but after 10 minutes I went back in, and she was not having it.  I tried just putting her paci back a few more times (didn't work), and then decided to put one arm back in the swaddle.

girl loves her Minnie Mouse

She fell right asleep like that, so I'm going to do this a few more nights and then try again with both arms out, and we'll see how it goes.

  1. haha that's awesome! Love that she has her Minnie Mouse too! Owen use to get out of the swaddle like a Houdini baby!
