i carry your heart

Like I said in my last post, I got my first tattoo yesterday, and since I didn't post a picture of it, I thought I would and explain the reason I got it.  In 2005 my sister gave me a collage with a poem by E.E. Cummings in the middle of it, this is the poem:

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart
(I carry it in my heart)
- E. E. Cummings -

The two most important people in my life are my husband and daughter, I could not live without them, and I am such a blessed woman to have them, so I got this tattoo because of them.  I know for the rest of my life, no matter what, I will always carry Brooklynne's heart in my heart.  As many of you know, my little sister (the one who gave me the collage and the one I named my daughter after) is one of the most important women in my life.  I know this sounds cheesy, but until she got married I carried her heart in my heart, and if she got hurt, I got hurt. Anyways, that's the reasoning, or basically, so here's my tattoo:

it's on my inner forearm on my right arm...and I absolutely love it!!
